Is there a meaningful difference between using a generic AI tool (Claude, ChatGPT) versus a tax-specific AI tool (like Blue J) in terms of client data risk?

The question of generic vs. tax-specific tools was raised without a full resolution. One point made: removing PII does not solve the underlying disclosure/privacy problem, because if you still input all the other surrounding tax information, there's enough auxiliary detail that removing just PII isn't sufficient. A counterpoint was that there may be ways to use a tool like Blue J to get to the underlying tax question or research answer without disclosing actual tax return data — it depends on what you're trying to do with the tool (pure research vs. document review).
