Which AI tax prep tool should I use, and does it require 7216 disclosure to clients?

17:09From the July 1 call · MCPs, Custom Connectors, and Super Apps with Adam Tahir

There are many different tools available for tax prep, including Cowork if you have Claude Enterprise (which now offers Cowork with data protection features, though it requires a minimum number of seats). On the 7216 question, the guidance given was that most firms will likely fall under 'bucket one,' which would not require disclosure to clients under the relevant framework — but the speaker explicitly said they weren't going to go deep into 7216 specifics and that members should rely on their own guidelines. In terms of choosing a tool, the view expressed was that in terms of accuracy, most tax prep AI tools are roughly equivalent (around 95% accurate currently), so the deciding factor should be customer service and which tool best fits your firm's specific workflow, not accuracy differences.
